St. Louis video production company, LumiVid, has been nominated by the Los Angeles Music Awards for Music Video of the Year

Mike Mesey, original member of Head East and drummer/owner of the rock band American Greed, approached partner Katy Kruze of the St. Louis video production company LumiVid about the possibility of producing a music video for American Greed in the winter of 2013. Mesey, a St. Louis native, had worked with Hollywood based producers in the past for several of his music videos, but wanted to explore local production possibilities to get the most out the investment.

“LumiVid had only produced 1 music video before I approached them, so I was hesitant”, said Mesey. “I was most impressed with their studios and the work they had done on some big commercial projects.” LumiVid has a large 4600 square foot production facility in the Chesterfield Valley of St. Louis and has been producing all facets of custom video and music for their clients since 2008.

“We had to do some convincing to help Mike (Mesey) feel comfortable with our skills and experience as creative directors and cinematographers to pull off the scope of this project.” said Will Lackey, the managing partner of LumiVid. “We approach all projects with a fresh creative perspective, while relying on our experience to deliver on, well, any vision whether it’s a corporate video promotion, a national beer commercial, or a short film. We create motion experiences through video and music to stimulate emotion, which is what all producers should seek to accomplish.”

The music video for the American Greed song “Ride Baby Ride” was released in the spring of 2013 and immediately caught the eyes of some influencers in Hollywood as the video has been nominated for “Music Video of the Year” in the 2013 Los Angeles Music Awards. The 23rd Annual Los Angeles Music Awards are being held at the Avalon Theater in West Hollywood on November 14th.
